An awareness program on “Transformations – Education into Life” was conducted at SMS Sisters Computer Center, Navalurkuttapattu. The session was organized by Mr. Kewin, a first-year MSW student from Bishop Heber College. The chief guest and keynote speaker was Ms. Abirami J.R., Psychologist from Aram Psychiatry Hospital. In her speech, Ms. Abirami emphasized that education is not limited to earning degrees but is a powerful tool for personal transformation. She explained that true education brings positive changes in attitude, behavior, confidence, and decision-making skills. She highlighted that when women apply their education in real-life situations—such as managing finances, making informed choices, communicating effectively, and understanding their rights—they become more independent and self-reliant. She also spoke about the importance of mental health, self-confidence, and continuous learning. She encouraged the students to overcome fear, societal barriers, and self-doubt. According to her, education helps women gain respect in society, achieve financial stability, and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities. She motivated the students to use their knowledge not only for employment but also for personal growth and social development. The session was interactive and inspiring. Around 40 students actively participated and benefited from the awareness program.
