An awareness program on “Mobile Addiction” was conducted at John Vestry Anglo Indian School, Trichy. The session was organized by Mr. Johan, an MSW student from Bishop Heber College. The Chief Guest and keynote speaker was Ms. Akila R., Psychiatric Social Worker at Aram Psychiatry Hospital. During the session, important topics were discussed, including the meaning of addiction, how teenagers quickly become trapped in excessive internet and smartphone use, the behavioural problems resulting from mobile addiction, and the impact of excessive smartphone usage on mental health. The speaker also emphasized the importance of awareness and shared practical tips to overcome mobile addiction and maintain a healthier, digitally balanced lifestyle. A total of 60 students actively participated and benefited from the program.
